‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ enjoys decent start at the Box Office

Shillong, July 30: The much-anticipated film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, made a promising debut at the box office on its opening day. Early estimates before its release had predicted earnings between Rs 12-15 crore on Day 1, but the film collected Rs 11.10 crore.

However, the movie saw a significant upswing in collections on its first Saturday, as day 2 figures surged to Rs 16.05 crore. This brought the total box office collection to an impressive Rs 27.15 crore. The film’s success during the opening weekend will determine if it proves to be a profitable venture for the filmmakers.

As per India Today ‘Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ garnered rave reviews from both the audience and fans. Directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy, the romantic comedy is a production of Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios. The stellar cast also includes Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. Interestingly, Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, contributed as an assistant director to the film.

The movie showcases picturesque locations as it was shot in Mumbai, New Delhi, Russia, and Jammu & Kashmir. With captivating music by Pritam and excellent cinematography by Manush Nandan, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ hit the theaters on July 28.
