SHILLONG, July 30: East Khasi Hills Police has issued a notice of appearance to the teachers of a school in Dangar who had allegedly forced a student to wear a garland of shoes and slippers because he could not speak in English during a class.
The aggrieved parents have file an FIR with Dangar Police alleging that the incident occurred on July 21 in Mary Immaculate LP and UP School when the head teacher along with two staff of the school forced their child, a student of Class VI, to wear a garland made of shoes and slippers because the student could not speak in English.
The student was reportedly forced to clean dustbins where the teacher allegedly spits after chewing betel nuts.
The FIR states that the school comes under the purview of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and most of the teachers are allegedly untrained and unqualified.
