TURA, Aug 9: In a freak accident, a 32-year-old woman from the town of Ampati in South West Garo Hills (SWGH) was seriously injured after falling off a running vehicle near the village of Rari in North Garo Hills.
As per reports, the woman hit her head leading to a loss of blood along with a skull fracture. She was referred immediately to nearby Goalpara in Assam where her condition is said to be critical.
“She was sitting at the window seat with her husband by her side and had been feeling queasy. After stopping the vehicle to puke, she boarded the same vehicle and due to weakness fell asleep. By some coincidence, while sleeping, she somehow unlocked the door and fell off the vehicle while it was negotiating a turn. She hit her head upon impact and lost consciousness. She has been rushed to Goalpara for further medical care,” informed a police officer from Rari.
