Shillong, August 16: The manager and chef of a popular restaurant located in Mumbai’s Bandra area have been charged following a disturbing incident in which a customer discovered a dead rat in his chicken dish.
As per India Today, police have taken action by filing a case under relevant sections and launching an investigation into the incident.
Anurag Singh, the complainant, detailed that he and his friend visited a restaurant in Pali Hill, Bandra West, to enjoy a meal. Their order included a chicken and mutton thali accompanied by bread. During their meal, they detected an unusual taste in a piece of meat. Upon closer inspection, they were shocked to find a small rat within the dish.
When Singh inquired about the incident with the restaurant manager, he received an unconvincing response. Subsequently, Anurag Singh filed a formal complaint at the Bandra police station. In response to the complaint, the police took action and registered a case against the restaurant manager, Vivian Albert Shikaver, the chef who was on duty at the time, and the supplier of the chicken.
The incident has raised concerns over hygiene and safety standards within food establishments, prompting authorities to address the matter and investigate the circumstances surrounding the unsettling discovery.
