SHILLONG: In a complaint lodged with the Deputy Commissioner, the Dorbar Shnong Kench’s Trace, Oxford Hill & Rilbong has accused the Rilbong Kench’s Trace Welfare Association of issuing “unauthorized” residential certificates to the residents.

The complaint said that such “unlawful” action of the Association had “jeopardized” the functioning of the local Dorbar.

The Secretary Shnong who filed the complaint urged the DC to take “necessary action to prevent such unlawful activities” of the Welfare Association.

The complaint said that the “objectionable” action of the Association was coming in the way of the recent police directive to the Dorbar to combat criminal activities in the area by checking all vehicles and residents within the jurisdiction of the Dorbar.

Meanwhile, the Association has clarified that it has been in existence since 1949 and has not indulged in any “unlawful” act. It urged the Dorbar to hold a dialogue to “sort the misgivings out”.
