10 Forest Department employees, others trapped in Himachal’s Kol dam hydel project

Shillong, August 21: Ten individuals, among them five forest department employees, found themselves trapped at the Kol Dam Hydel Project located in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district on Sunday.

As per PTI, authorities have assured that the situation is not life-threatening and that the trapped individuals will be rescued promptly.

Mandi Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary said, “The rescue operation has been initiated by the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) in coordination with the local administration and residents.” Chaudhary emphasized that the rescue effort is well underway and progress is being made.

After receiving information from locals, a team from the NDRF was swiftly dispatched to the scene to assist in the rescue mission. The group of those stuck includes five forest department employees with names as Bhadur Singh, Bhupesh Thakur, Roop Singh, Babu Ram, and Angad Kumar. The other five are local residents identified as Nain Singh, Dagu Ram, Hem Raj, Bhudhi Singh, and Dharmendra.
