Shillong, August 25: Veteran actor Anupam Kher expresses happiness as his film ‘The Kashmir Files’ secures the Nargis Dutt Award for best feature film on National Integration at the 69th National Film Awards. Nonetheless, he notes his wish to be recognized for his acting in the movie.

As per IANS, taking to Instagram, Anupam shared glimpses from the film and expressed his delight, stating, “Delighted and proud that #TheKashmirFiles won the prestigious and most important #NationalAward – Nargis Dutt award for #BestFeatureFilm on national integration. Not only as an actor but also being an executive producer on the film I am so happy for this recognition for our film.”

While desiring recognition for his performance, he remains upbeat, highlighting that fulfilling desires fuels enthusiasm for future work. He extends congratulations to all winners, looking forward to his next endeavors.

‘The Kashmir Files’ presents a fictional narrative centered around the 1990 exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Indian-administered Kashmir. It frames the exodus and its lead-up as a genocide, though this framing is disputed by scholars.

Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, and Anupam Kher himself, the film revolves around a Kashmiri Hindu college student. Raised by his exiled grandfather without knowledge of his parents’ fate, the student embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his family’s deaths after his grandfather’s passing. The storyline alternates between his journey in 2020 and his family’s struggles three decades prior.
