Shillong, August 28: A Chinese national, Wang Lin, has been sentenced to six weeks in jail in Singapore for pushing an Indian-origin security officer, Prakash Govindan Damodaran, causing him to fall and fracture his wrist in 2021.

As per IANS, Wang, a director at over 100 companies, admitted to voluntarily causing grievous harm to Damodaran outside a shopping mall on November 6, 2021. Wang’s lawyer explained that the incident occurred after Wang’s family gestured him to stop as he was picking them up due to rain.

Damodaran confronted Wang, leading to a physical altercation resulting in Damodaran’s injury. Wang’s actions were condemned by security employee organizations. He was arrested in 2022 and charged in April for his behavior.
