SHILLONG, Sep 2: Amidst a scurry among state’s MBBS candidates, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Saturday revealed that the time frame to conduct the necessary formalities for acceptance of candidates to undergo MBBS course and execution of bond-cum-agreement will be extended.
The arguably short-notice summon announced for MBBS candidates to conduct the formalities has put them in a fix. Some of the concerned parents of the candidates approached The Shillong Times narrating their ordeals. They expressed difficulty in getting a non-judicial stamp on a holiday and also having only a day and a half to get things right and report.
It may be mentioned that the government had directed candidates selected for the course to report to Room No 502 in the Additional Building Meghalaya (Civil) Secretariat from September 1, 2 to 3 before 5 pm for acceptance of the course and execution of the bond-cum agreement.
Failing to do so, it warned that the candidates will automatically lose his or her right to nomination and the next eligible candidate will be nominated.
However, when contacted, the Health minister said, “We will extend the (date for) formalities”.
