Shillong, September 4: Delhi Police has officially clarified that there will be no lockdown during the upcoming G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9 and 10. This announcement aimed to dispel speculations about a potential lockdown in the national capital due to security concerns.

As per India Today, using a meme featuring an image from the popular South Indian movie – Don No.1, Delhi Police conveyed the message to the public. They shared on X (formerly Twitter), “Dear Delhiites, Don’t panic at all! There is no lockdown. Just keep yourself updated with traffic information available on @dtpftraffic’s Virtual Help Desk.”

In preparation for the G20 Summit, the Delhi Traffic Police has established a dedicated helpdesk to provide real-time traffic information in the national capital during the summit.

On the preceding Saturday, Delhi Police conducted full dress rehearsals for the G20 Summit, overseeing the movement of caravans from various parts of the national capital toward the New Delhi district. The rehearsal took place during specific timings, from 8.30 am to 12 pm, 4.30 pm to 6 pm, and 7 pm to 11 pm. Commuters were advised to utilize metro services as traffic disruptions were anticipated.
