Dy CM welcomes one election move, albeit obliquely

SHILLONG, Sep 4: Amidst the Centre drumming up support for its ‘One nation, one election’ proposal, Deputy Chief Minister obliquely welcomed the move.
He pointed out that the topic is scheduled to be discussed in the special session of the Parliament later this month, and possibly in the autumn session of the Meghalaya Assembly as well.
“My personal opinion is that if we have ‘One election, one nation’, we will be able to save a lot of time, funds and manpower,” Tynsong said.
He said that the model code of conduct which has to be implemented before elections affects state and central developmental works.
