Four arrested for assaulting UP truck driver

SHILLONG: Four persons were arrested for assaulting one Uttar Pradesh-based truck driver along with his associates on Saturday night.

The four persons have been identified as one Jonathan Marbaniang (27) of Nongrim road, Lumborlang Warjri (27) of Lumsohphoh, Jerryland Lyngdoh (27) of Riatsamthiah and Jeremy Shylla (22) of Malki Chinapatti.

According to the police, these four youth assaulted one driver and two others of a UP based truck (UP-15-AT) identified as Gulfam Khan (38), Baram Pal (42) and his son, Kapil Kumar of Ayhsaini in Uttar Pradesh.

The driver, Gulfam Khan was admitted in Shillong civil hospital and is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital.
