SHILLONG: A Delhi-based businessman Dilbagh Nashier has denied allegations of bribing the Borsora police outpost officer-in-charge, sub-inspector, Babul R Marak to put pressure on a businessman, Hari Sarkar to sign an agreement to pay Rs 9 lakh to him.
Sarkar, who runs a mechanical workshop at Borsora bazaar, had on Saturday alleged that Nashier bribed the officer in charge, Borsora outpost to act against him.
“This allegation is totally baseless. I had never bribed Marak for forcing Sarkar to sign the agreement. This is a blatant attempt to spoil my good name and image,” Nashier said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
While referring to the agreement signed between him and Sarkar on August 4, 2013, Nashier claimed that both parties had agreed to run a firm in partnership for six months till February 2, 2013 and share the losses and profits equally.
“In the agreement, he (Sarkar) had also agreed to pay an amount of Rs 9 lakh on February 2, 2014 failing which the mechanical shop owned by him (along with full machinery and fittings) would be rightfully mine ,” Nashier claimed.
Earlier on Saturday, Sarkar’s counsel, PK Bora said that a petition against the atrocities and favouritism shown by sub-inspector, Bablu R Marak was filed with the district court of ADM on August last for legal action.
