TURA, Sep 12: A 45 year old woman who was injured in an accident and desperate for help has been able to get her much needed treatment after a WhatsApp group came to her rescue pooling their resources towards her cause.
Rima Momin from Gongglanggre under Garobadha in West Garo Hills met with an accident at Byrnihat and badly injured her feet. She was taken to Byrnihat PHC by one Carla Sangma from where doctors referred her to NEIGRIHMS Hospital.
However, due to financial constraints and as her family members and relatives could not be contacted getting the victim treated was proving to be a challenge. Seeing no other options, Sangma reached out to various social media groups until at last, one WhatsApp group from Tura responded.
Members of the WhatsApp group ‘We Are The World’ each donated what little they could and delivered the amount towards her treatment.
