BSF rescues 67 cattle in joint ops

SHILLONG, Sep 12: In separate joint operations with the Meghalaya Police, BSF Meghalaya rescued 67 cattle along the Indo-Bangla border areas in East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills districts. The cattle were intended to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
Acting on specific inputs, the troops of 193rd Battalion BSF carried out a coordinated operation with the Meghalaya police. They seized 37 cattle, which were concealed in a jungle area near the bordering village of Kamarphil in East Khasi Hills, with the intention of smuggling them into Bangladesh. The seized cattle were subsequently handed over to the Dangar Police Station.
In another operation, troops of 4th and 193rd Battalion of the BSF also seized 30 cattle near the international border, while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh.
