Not returning to politics: Lapang

SHILLONG, Sep 13: Veteran politician and four-time chief minister, DD Lapang on Wednesday said he would not be attempting a political comeback since he wanted to rest. “I am not going to be tempted by any offer of contesting the polls. I only want to share my experience with the young generation,” he said.
Lapang, who quit the Congress to join the NPP in 2018, said he cannot be held responsible for the downfall of the Congress in the state.
“I work for the NPP and want to be with the party,” he said.
Lauding the MDA Government, Lapang said the government is attached to the grassroots is focusing on issues affecting the lives of people.
He advised the Meghalaya and Assam governments to apply their head and heart to resolve the border disputes.
