SHILLONG: The ANVC-B has strongly condemned the attack on the residence of its cadres at Williamnagar by UALA militants.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, ANVC-B spokesperson Nado R Marak described the attack on innocent family members as an act of cowardice.
“The fight is between the two factions not with helpless and innocent family members,” the statement said, adding, “Attacking and threatening a family is the lowest one could stoop in making their presence felt.”
“Underground organizations have never attacked family members of the cadres but the UALA has broken that law,” the ANVC-B said, while making it clear that the UALA should refrain from such acts or be ready to face severe consequences because of their actions.
The outfit also accused the Government of going soft on the UALA which is encouraging them to move about freely in the heart of the city for such premeditated attacks.
“UALA is a virus that needs to be taken care of before it cripples the society,” the statement added.
The ANVC-B also pointed out that the Government must take UALA seriously since it consists of a band of dacoits whose only motive is to make easy money by use of gun power.
