Kohima: The Nagaland Minister of School Education C. M. Chang has accepted that the performance of the Government High Schools (GHS) in the state has been not up to mark and said that the Government has decided to downgrade those schools with nil pass percentage in the final examinations. In an informal chat with the media persons at the Office of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, after taking oath as the member of the Nagaland assembly after his election to the Assembly in the Bye-elections of Noksen Assembly Constituency in Tuensang district on Tuesday last, Chang acknowledged that the performance of Government schools, specially in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations have been poor.
In this connection, he said that the Government has decided to downgrade those schools showing ‘nil pass percentage’ in the Nagaland Board of Secondary Education examination. (UNI)
