Shillong, September 20: Conservative Party leader, Pierre Poilievre, urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to provide complete details regarding his claims linking Indian government agents to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

“I think the Prime Minister needs to come clean with all the facts, we need to know all the evidence possible so that Canadians can make judgment on that,” Poilievre emphasized during a media address.

Poilievre also pointed out, “The Prime Minister has not provided any facts, he provided a statement, and I want to emphasize that he didn’t tell me more in private than he told Canadians in public, so we want to see more information.”

India Today reported that on Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged a “potential link” between Indian government agents and the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the leader of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), who was killed in Surrey in June. This allegation led to the expulsion of a top Indian diplomat by the Canadian government.

However, the Indian government swiftly dismissed these charges as “absurd and motivated” and reiterated India’s strong commitment to the rule of law. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement, saying, “Allegations of the Government of India’s involvement in any act of violence in Canada are absurd and motivated.”

In response, India also expelled a top Canadian diplomat, Olivier Sylvester, and conveyed its decision to the Canadian High Commissioner, Cameron MacKay.
