SHILLONG: The Opposition National People’s Party (NPP) has expressed concern over the spate of unabated bandhs that has crippled normal life in Garo Hills.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, NPP Spokesperson James Sangma said that this situation has spiralled out of control due to the inept manner in which it being handled.
“We do not condone the actions of the students, however the treatment being meted out to the students who were picked up randomly and subsequently arrested is akin to the way hardcore criminals are treated,” he said.
The party also urged the Government to release all the students from jail immediately in an effort to bring back normalcy in Garo Hills.
