SHILLONG, Sep 22: KHADC CEM, Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Friday virtually questioned the credibility and the antecedent of the Voice of the People Party by questioning whether the Prah (winnower, the VPP symbol) was Khasi or from West Bengal.
“If it is really the Prah from Khasi Hills then the VPP will sweep the upcoming KHADC and JHADC elections, but if it is from West Bengal then VPP is not going to last,” the KHADC CEM said.
He also claimed that the VPP wave was dying since many have started to question the actual roots of the party.
Syiem said any party can mislead the people only once. “Now the people are slowly seeing the true colour of the VPP,” Syiem said.
Reminded that VPP chief, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit was instrumental in his election as the MDC for the first time, Syiem said, “People who have worked with him will understand. Those who are still with him are yet to have a bitter experience.”
