Shillong, Sept 26: Even as CAG report has revealed undue favours and wasteful expenditures worth crores in implementation of different schemes in the state, BJP leader and Cabinet Minister AL Hek on Tuesday said that allegations have to be properly authenticated and proven before taking any action into any matter.

Stating that it is the duty of the CAG to report on such issues, he added that the concerned departments will accordingly reply.

When asked about inquiry into the allegations, he said such matters have to be authenticated and proven before any action is taken.

He also said that if anything wrong has occurred, it the duty of the Government to rectify it.

The Comptroller and Auditor General has also picked holes in the Meghalaya government’s implementation of PM-KISAN, casting doubt over the genuineness of the beneficiaries of the scheme

However, Hek said that he does not think that the scheme is not reaching out to the beneficiaries.

“Some are getting and some are not getting the scheme. It is just a matter of time,” he said while adding that PM-KISAN scheme is obviously not for every beneficiary and only those beneficiaries who are eligible get the benefits of the scheme.

Meanwhile, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing also said that there should be a CBI inquiry into all the irregularities which have been pointed out by the CAG.
