Shillong, September 29: In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, a school teacher named Sajishta was arrested and suspended after allegedly instructing a Muslim student to slap a Hindu classmate on September 26.

As per India Today, the incident unfolded when Sajishta posed a question to a Class 5 student, who couldn’t answer, leading her to purportedly ask a Muslim student to slap the boy.

The situation came to light when the Hindu student displayed signs of depression and withdrew from school. Upon inquiry by his father, the 11-year-old recounted the incident, leading to the registration of a case against the teacher on September 27.

Following an investigation, the police arrested the teacher on September 28, and the school authorities suspended her from her duties. This incident follows a previous case in Muzaffarnagar where a teacher faced an FIR for instructing students to slap their Muslim classmate, a video of which generated substantial outrage.
