Shillong, October 2: A heartbreaking incident occurred in Lucknow as a class 12 student, identified as Sunita, took her own life following a scolding from her mother.

As per India Today, the reason for the scolding was Sunita’s excessive use of her mobile phone and prolonged conversations with friends.

The police report reveals that Sunita had been unwell and had not been attending school for the past few days. While at home, she would engage in conversations with her friends on her mobile phone, which led to her mother reprimanding her. In response, her mother confiscated her phone and left for work.

Overwhelmed by her mother’s reprimand, Sunita tragically hanged herself in her room. Before taking this drastic step, she sent her brother outside to play.

Upon his return, Sunita’s brother discovered the devastating scene of his sister’s lifeless body. The Lucknow Police took custody of the body and initiated postmortem procedures.

This tragic incident echoes a similar occurrence in August 2023 when another class 12 student ended her life after her mother scolded her for oversleeping and neglecting her studies.
