SHILLONG, Oct 3: BJP national vice president and state in-charge, M Chuba Ao, on Tuesday, said that the selection of any state president is based on loyalty.
He also clarified that former president Ernest Mawrie was replaced as he had completed his tenure.
On allegations of nepotism levelled against Mawrie, Ao said that no president can satisfy everyone. The BJP national vice president even cited his experience as the president of the Nagaland BJP.
Asked to comment on the new president, Rikman Momin, Ao said, “I know him since I joined and he works silently and carries on the assignments of the party”. “BJP always sees who is loyal to the party,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ao also said that the new office-bearers will also be elected shortly.
