Come rain or shine, tourists dance to local beats at the launch of MGMP 2

Shillong, Oct 4: The second season of Meghalaya Grassroots project launched on Thursday, here in Khyndailad, Police Bazaar. The project which is a collaboration between the State Tourism Department and The Meghalayan Age, had in attendance the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, Tourism Minister, Paul Lyngdoh, Health Minister, Ampareen Lyngdoh and Commisioner and Secretary, Vijay Kumar D.

Popular local bands like Sur Na Nongkyndong,
Na U Bnai and Colours took to the stage and made sure the crowd danced to their beats.Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma addressing the crowd said this project is first of its kind in the entire country,  and will put Meghalaya as the music capital of the country.

The tourists who were a part of the crowd witnessed the local beats and couldn’t help but dance despite the heavy pour.
