SHILLONG, Oct 4: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Wednesday said that an MBBS candidate from East Jaintia Hills has been “stripped” of his seat allocated under the open category quota after the deputy commissioner reviewed the Permanent Residential Certificate (PRC) and found the candidate “ineligible” for the PRC.
The vacant seat will now be accorded to the top candidate in the waiting list under the unreserved category, she said.
“Following the controversy over the list of eligible candidates for MBBS seats, we had forwarded the provisional PRCs to the respective deputy commissioners with the instruction that no provisional PRC should be issued henceforth,” she added.
