Bus stand worth 10 lakh stolen
in Bengaluru
BENGALURU, Oct 6: Abizarre news has emerged from Bengaluru, where a partially-built bus shelter has disappeared from a busy road. The stainless steel structure was being constructed on Cunningham Road at a cost of ₹ 10 lakh.The bus shelter had chairs, roofs, and poles, but nothing was spared.It was maintained by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The transport body’s vice president, N Ravi Reddy, filed a complaint about the theft on September 30, after which the police started an investigation. The police have registered a case under Section 157 of the CrPC.The police are now analyzing CCTV footage collected from buildings installed in the area. (ANI)

 

Drunk youth urinates on elderly couple
LUCKNOW, Oct 6: A youth in his early twenties, under heavy influence of alcohol, allegedly urinated on a senior citizen couple, who were traveling in an AC coach of Uttar Pradesh Sampark Kranti Express.The incident took place on Wednesday night inside coach B3. The train was cruising towards Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction, when the victims,lying on lower berths No. 57 and 60, were left in a state of shock as they saw a youth urinating on them and their luggage.The accused passenger has been identified as Ritesh from Qutub Vihar, southwest Delhi, who had boarded the train from Mahoba, and was travelling on the side lower berth No. 63. Kerala priest to be tried by church ‘court’
THIRUVANANTAPURAM, Oct 6: Bishop of Thamarassery attached to the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church has constituted a Tribunal with a four-member group of priests to conduct the “trial” against the “accused” Rev Fr Aji Puthiyaparambil for defying the directives of the Church.Puthiyaparambil has been a priest of the Church for the past two decades and courted trouble when he raised issues about some wrong-doings of the higher ups on a few issues.Soon he was suspended by the Church but following support from the laity that the 46-year-old priest was just pointing out some errors of the higher ups, his suspension was revoked.
