Inter-College Cricket sees exciting matches on Day 2

Shillong, Nov 7: The 2023 NEHU Inter College Cricket (Men) Tournament, taking place at the NEHU Permanent Campus in Shillong, is off to an electrifying start as it enters its second day. Organized by the Sports Department of NEHU, Shillong, the tournament experiences thrilling cricket action for all enthusiasts.
The first encounter of the day saw St. Edmund’s College, Shillong, locking horns with BBS College, Shillong. St. Edmund’s College, having won the toss, opted to bat first. They managed to post a score of 76 runs on the board in their allotted 20 overs but lost all their wickets in the process. In response, BBS College had a target of 156 runs to chase down in 20 overs. With impressive batting performances, they reached the target in just 13 overs, losing three wickets in the process. BBS College, Shillong emerged victorious, winning the match by seven wickets.
The second match of the day featured Umshyrpi College taking on NEHU, Shillong. Umshyrpi College, after winning the toss, decided to bat first and managed to score 150 runs on the board in their 20 overs, losing seven wickets in the process.
NEHU, Shillong, was set a target of 151 runs to win, and they reached their goal in the 18th over after losing eight wickets.
In a closely contested match, NEHU, Shillong, emerged as the winners, clinching the victory by two wickets.
