GoC 15 Corps celebrates Diwali at LoC

Srinagar, Nov 12: The General Officer Commanding of the 15 Corps, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, on Sunday visited various formations, including those deployed along the Line of Control (LoC), to celebrate Diwali with troopers. “#ChinarCorps Cdr visited frontline units along the LoC and in hinterland to celebrate Diwali. He also conveyed best wishes for good health and happiness to their families on the occasion,” the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said on X. Lt General Ghai “complimented troops for their high morale and combat readiness”, it added. In an earlier post, the 15 Corps extended Diwali greetings to all ranks and citizens of Kashmir. “The Chinar Corps conveys best wishes for happiness and prosperity to all ranks, families, veterans, civil defence employees and citizens of Kashmir on the occasion of Diwali,” it said. Toll in Kerala blasts rises to 5

Kochi, Nov 12: The death toll from the blasts that rocked a Christian religious gathering near here two weeks ago has risen to five, the Kerala government said on Sunday. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Sally Pradeepan from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district of the state, died at a private hospital on Saturday night, a government health bulletin said. She was on ventilator support, it said. Presently, 17 people who were injured in the blasts are undergoing treatment in various hospitals here, the bulletin by a medical board said. Of them eight are in ICU with one in critical condition and the remaining nine in wards, it said. Over 50 people were injured, some seriously, during the multiple blasts at an international convention centre in Kalamassery, near this port city of Kerala. The blasts were set off at a religious gathering of a Christian sect known as Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 29.
