Woman dies in accident; minor rider held

Shillong, Nov 13: A 40-year-old woman died on the spot after she was hit by a speeding two-wheeler while trying to cross to the other side of the road at Mawlai Mawdatbaki, on Monday evening.
Police informed that the rider is a minor and has been taken into custody.
The deceased has been identified as Lari Iawrot of Mawlai Kynton Massar Block-A.
The police said that it was the fault of the biker since he was driving at a very high speed and a minor.
The victim was rushed to Shillong Civil Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
The deceased is originally from Phlangwanbroi, near Mawsynram and worked at Kiddies Corner School.
