Rajput Community plans to file writ petition in HC

Rajkot: The Rajput Community here intensified their agitation in protest against the release of film ‘Ram Leela’ and demanded a ban on the movie over its objectionable content allegedly misinterpreting the history of Rajput and Rabari communities.

All India Kchhatriya (Rajput) Samaj President P T Jadeja told UNI over phone that his community is protesting the release of Bhansali’s movie ‘Ram Leela’, which shows that Rajputs and Rabari communities have enmity since 500 years which was not true.

“Thus are against the story that seems to be a distorting fact and clearly defames the Rajput women and community,” he added.

“Rajput community is planning to file a writ petition in the High Court on Wednesday at Ahmedabad, demanding a ban against movie’s the release on November 29, this year,” Jadeja said.

Last evening, Kchhatriya Samaj held a meeting at the Hemu Gadhvi Auditorium and chalked out the agitation programme against the release of film in theatres, he said.

On Thursday, nearly 5,000 members of the Rajput Community will assemble here across the Saurashtra region and will submit the memorandums to the District Collector and Police Commissioner against the film’s release and express their feelings against the movie, Jadeja said. (UNI)
