SHILLONG: Synod College won two basketball matches on day one of the Inter College Basketball Tournament, organised by NEHU on Monday.
While Synod College’s women’s team beat Shillong Commerce College 23-9, their men’s team overcame Jaintia Eastern College 46-23.
Umshyrpi College were also double winners on the day, with the women’s team beating Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai, 12-4 and the men’s team coming away 27-20 winners over Shillong Commerce College.
In other mens’ matches, KL Bajoria College defeated PG NEHU Tura 29-15, while PG NEHU Shillong came through in a tight game, beating Thomas Jones Synod College 47-40.
Jaintia Eastern and PG NEHU Shillong received walkovers in the women’s category.
