Appoint or face agitation: Ri Bhoi DSC passed candidates tell Govt

NONGPOH: The Ri Bhoi District Selection Commission Passed Candidates Association (RBDSCPCA) has set a Thursday deadline for the State Government to appoint them to the vacant posts in various government offices failing which they will resort to agitation.

Speaking to The Shillong Times here, the RBDSCPCA secretary said that the Association members have discussed the issue at all the head offices (directorates etc.) of different departments in Shillong on Friday last and the deadline has been made known in the respective offices.

“We demand direct appointment in place of those serving temporarily or on adhoc basis etc.” the secretary said.

The Association members also urged the departments to intimate the District Selection Committee, Nongpoh of any vacant post that crops up. Lyngdoh informed that the Ri Bhoi DSC held the written test and interview for different posts in the district in the year 2010. Out of the 121 selected candidates, 76 were placed in various departments while the rest are yet to get appointments.
