Vehicle tax
The Garo Hills Motor Worker Union is planning to hold a rally at Tura on Monday in protest against the recent road tax hike in Meghalaya. A meeting to discuss the road tax was held at Dakopgre community hall which was attended by representatives of various commercial vehicle associations.
MTTS anniv
As a mark to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Meghalaya Taekwondo Training School (MTTS), a programme was held at Sunny Hill community hall in Shillong on Saturday. Delivering the inaugural address, KHNAM legislator Paul Lyngdoh lauded the efforts of MTTS for its services to the youth of the State. The training centre has so far bagged 40 silver medals from seven competitions its students participated in.
AIDS awareness
The All Jaintia Youth Welfare Organisation in collaboration with the MSCWA will organize an awareness programme on HIV AIDS at Ladrymbai on Tuesday. Representatives from the National AIDs Control Society (NACO) and Meghalaya AIDs Control Society (MACS) will attend the programme
