SHILLONG: Police on Monday arrested a local taxi driver — Sayed Ahmed Barbhuya (29) – for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl after she boarded his taxi (ML-05H-0926) at Jingkieng to go to Police Bazar.
The incident which took place on September 29 at around 2.30 pm was reported to police only on Sunday evening. The accused has been absconding after allegedly committing the crime at Shillong Peak.
