Body found

A highly decomposed male body (approx 40) was fished out from a lake of Kyndongjri, Mawdun village, East Khasi Hills on October 9. The post mortem examination was conducted over the body and after examination; the body was kept at the morgue room at Shillong civil hospital for identification.

Arrest

On October 7 at around 3:30 am, four persons, Yestarland Warlarpih (26), Antonio Mawthoh (29), Jop Tangsang (30) and Tomkin Lyngdoh (37) who claimed themselves as Members of NGOs were arrested by the police for conducting illegal checking at Byrnihat Infiltration Check Gate.

Rape

One Paulus Sangma (45) had raped one woman (24) on October 5 and during the past ten years at Ryngku (EKH).

Cheating Case

  • Saljeng A Sangma, ex-Nokma of Darugre-Songmagre lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on October 4, it transpired that Bilmoni A. Sangma had forged his signature.
  • The BDO Mawphlang C&RD Block lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on July 11, Planstar Kharsohnoh, Secy., VEC, Umsawmat village and Lamphrang Marbaniang, ex-Community Coordinator, Umsawmat village have fraudulently withdrew money for construction of a footpath.
