Guwahati, Nov 1: A “Digital Swasthya Summit” was organised under the aegis of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Assam and National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, in association with the National Health Authority, here on Thursday in a bid to implement the national health programmes in a more efficient manner.
Representatives of leading private hospitals operating in Kamrup Metro district as well as various medical councils and medical associations of Assam, who are the important stakeholders of the digital healthcare ecosystem of the state, took part in the summit.
Officials of NHM, Assam, National Health Authority, New Delhi, and state programme officials of ABDM and NHM were present in the summit.
The purpose of the summit was to highlight the manifold benefits of private health facilities, National Health Mission’s ongoing programmes and also to underscore the significance of health portals in improving healthcare services in the state.
A detailed presentation and orientation was given to the nodal/administrative officers representing both private and government health institutions on the objectives of health programmes and portals of both ABDM and NHM, its goals and targets, role of both government and private hospitals in the implementation of the programmes, prevailing gaps in coordination and reporting of the health programmes in Assam.
“All health facilities should come under the common umbrella by registering under the Health Facility Registry (HFR), and every resident of the country should be encouraged to generate their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) numbers to become an active part of the emerging digital health ecosystem,” additional chief secretary, health and family welfare, Avinash P Joshi, said while addressing the summit.
In her address, mission director, NHM and ABDM, M.S. Lakshmi Priya stated, “We will ensure that both ABDM and NHM move forward together for providing the best possible healthcare services to the people of the state, thus strengthening the health system of Assam. Hence, joint cooperation of all health service providers shall be of utmost importance for the successful implementation of both the missions”.
