Shillong, December 8: Following their triumph in the recent assembly polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) who tendered their resignations have received instructions to vacate their government bungalows in Delhi within the next 30 days, India Today has reported.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla confirmed the acceptance of resignations from nine MPs, including notable figures such as Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Patel. The resigning Lok Sabha MPs hail from various states, namely Madhya Pradesh (Rakesh Singh, Udya Pratap Singh, and Riti Pathak), Rajasthan (Diya Kumari and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore), and Chhattisgarh (Gomati Sai and Arun Sao).
The report stated that Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena also tendered his resignation during this period. In response to the Prime Minister’s recommendation, President Droupadi Murmu bestowed additional responsibilities on various ministers. Munda was granted an extra charge in the Agriculture Ministry and Farmer’s Welfare, while Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, assumed additional responsibilities in the Jal Shakti ministry.
Furthermore, Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, received an additional portfolio as the Minister of State in Food Processing Industries. Bharti Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, was entrusted with an extra role as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
