SHILLONG: Miscreants on Tuesday morning burnt down several important documents including ledgers and bills of the office of Assistant Executive Engineer , MeECL Sub Division at Mawsynram.
Miscreants entered into the office by breaking open the lock.
Three chairs of the office were also set ablaze by miscreants, sources said adding there was no major damage to the office building.
Police, meanwhile, detained one person in this connection for questioning.
Bike torched: In another incident, miscreants torched a bike belonging to one Rajesh Gurung of Nongmynsong Lumshyiap on Monday evening. The bike was parked at an isolated place at Umpling behind BSF camp.
