Lucknow: BJP Uttar Pradesh unit is gearing up for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s historic inaugural public rally at Kanpur on October 19.

“All preparation for a grand show is underway and a record number of people will attend this public rally, though we have appealed to the people of other regions to avoid this meeting as they will get a chance to hear Mr Modi in their region shortly,” said UP BJP president Laxmikant Bajpai. Addressing a press conference, Dr Bajpai said that Party president Rajnath Singh and Party’s Prime Minister candidate– would be the only guests of the meeting while remaining leaders would be the hosts.

“There would be 10 senior party leaders on the dias during the meeting but the party leadership would decide on the name,” he said while refusing to comment on whether former deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani would attend the Kanpur rally. Scores of LED screens would be installed, while modern audio system would be in place so that people get clear voice of speeches of their leaders, Dr Bajpai informed. (PTI)
