NEIGRIHMS cath lab ready to serve heart patients

SHILLONG, Dec 15: The Department of Cardiology, NEIGRIHMS has achieved another feather on its cap with the inauguration of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath lab) equipped with Intra-cardiac echocardiography and 3D Electrophysiological Mapping for enhanced delineation of structural and functional integrity of the heart.
With the installation and commissioning of the Cath lab with additional sophisticated features, patients with heart conditions will get the highest standard of care with enhanced accuracy and precision for heart ailments.
These devices, coupled with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Intra-vascular Ultrasonography (IVUS), Rotablation, etc would enable cardiologists to address all kinds of cardiac ailments.
The facility was inaugurated by NEIGRIHMS Director Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta in the presence of the Head of Cardiology, Dr Animesh Mishra, Prof. Manish Kapoor, and Dr. Amit Malviya.
