Multiple two-wheelers, shop gutted in Jhalupara locality

SHILLONG, Dec 28: A number of two-wheelers besides a shop were completely gutted in a major fire in the city on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 2 am near a house in Jhalupara locality.
As per an FIR filed with Jhalupara Outpost, the fire started from a scooty (ML05A 2201) and soon it spread to a nearby pan shop and four two-wheelers parked in the area.
Two shops were also partially gutted in the incident.
According to the FIR, a person was abusing one of the complainants when the incident occurred.
It may be mentioned that at least 3-4 similar incidents of torching and vandalism of two-wheelers in Jhalupara and Mawprem area have been reported in last one year.
