SHILLONG, Dec 29: Many areas of Shillong are set to come under surveillance as the construction of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) and other associated facilities is expected to be completed by January next year.
Sources said the installation of CCTV cameras in different parts of the city is underway although the pace of work is quite slow. The physical progress of the ICCC, being set up at the New Shillong Township, was 75 per cent till November.
The project is being implemented by M/s Nice Infotech. The work was awarded on December 17, 2021.
The state government had earlier asked the company to finish the project by December but it failed to meet the deadline. There is shortage of manpower but officials said efforts will be made to complete the project by January next year.
M/s Nice Infotech had executed the work of Access Control System (ACS) at the Secretariat. Following the introduction of ACS, the employees of the Secretariat are now required to punch their cards at the time of entry and exit.
