Accident on NH-6 claims one life, another grievously hurt

NONGPOH, Dec 30: A female pillion rider lost her life while the rider is battling for his life after their bike was crushed by a truck on NH-6 at Umling in Ri-Bhoi on Saturday evening.
The impact of the collision resulted in the immediate demise of the yet-to-be-identified woman, who was riding pillion on the motorcycle.
The biker, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, suffered major injuries in the accident.
According to reliable sources, the incident occurred at around 4:30 pm when the motorcycle, en route from Guwahati to Shillong, collided with the truck, coming from the opposite direction.
Swift response teams rushed the injured biker to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for urgent medical attention. Ri-Bhoi Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Police are working to ascertain the identity of the two persons and gather essential information to provide a comprehensive account of the incident.
