SHILLONG, Jan 4: All is not well within the BJP camp as the infamous infighting continues in the party with the dissident group ready to approach party central leadership over the appointment of ‘tainted’ leaders in the BJP’s executive committee.
Some dissident leaders on condition of anonymity said that the party was expected to rejuvenate after new president Rikman Momin was elected new party president but things appear to be contrary both in Khasi and Garo Hills regions.
Taking a cue from the resignation of stalwart BJP leader L K Advani who resigned as the opposition leader when he was accused of the Hawala scam, the leaders said that BJP leaders have always led by example but in Meghalaya, the leaders who have been charge-sheeted by Lokayukta are made office bearers of the party.
“The newly joined members who lecture on probity and transparency should know that even leader like L K Advani resigned as leader of the opposition when he was accused of Hawala scam,” the leaders said while adding that these new leaders joined BJP recently after deserting their old party and this is how the party is defamed.
