Elaborate security arrangement for Prez’s visit

Shillong, Jan 12: East Khasi Hills police have made elaborative security arrangements in view of President, Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the state on January 16.
At the same time, for the convenience and smooth flow of traffic during the president’s visit, the police have issued a traffic advisory for January 16. As the president would visit the Law Kyntang at Mawphlang (Sacred Grove), the public has been asked to avoid unnecessary visits to the area.
From Mawphlang, the president will attend a programme at Raj Bhavan.
She will attend another programme at Raj Bhavan on January 17 morning before she heads back to Delhi.
SP (City) Vivek Syiem said that they have taken all possible steps to ensure no inconvenience is caused to the public. He further said that they have issued a press release as far as possible to not take the main arterial route and avoid any unnecessary visits unless necessary.
The SP City added that all junctions will be manned and more manpower has been given to ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Similarly, the police have already begun arrangements for the NEC preliminary meeting scheduled to be held in Shillong on January 19 where NEC chairman and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah will be chairing.
It is expected that all the eight chief ministers of the NE states will be attending the meeting.
