TURA, Jan 14: A complaint has been filed against several caretakers of Asikandi VEC part-II, Part-VI and Part-VII in West Garo Hills, alleging various irregularities in connection with the construction of RCC Ring Wells under the VEC.
The complaint was filed to the Deputy Commissioner and the District Appellate authority of MGNREGS by one, Mofidur Rahman.
According to the complaint, it was alleged that Kobi Nessa and Sk Morjina, Khobiza Khatun and Yesmin Sarkar and Morzina Bgum and Narzia Begum, all caretakers of Asikandi VEC Part-II, Part-VI and Part-VII diverted the construction of the ring wells to the residences of 11 different persons. The VEC falls under Demdema Block in West Garo Hills.
It was further alleged that while diverting the construction of the ring wells, sub-standard and unhygienic toilets and dustbins were constructed in their places to misappropriate the funds.
Rahman, while pointing out that the original work order and estimate has been violated resulting in misappropriation of funds, sought that an inquiry be initiated and action taken against all the VEC caretakers for the irregularity.
