Police awaits post mortem findings

SHILLONG: The West Garo Hills district police are currently awaiting the post mortem report of the 14-year-old girl, who was found dead on the banks of the Ringgi (Rongai) river in Chibinang village which is 60 kms from Tura on Friday.

According to the police, the cause of death of the girl can only be ascertained with the submission of the post mortem report even as they suspect that girl was raped before she was murdered.

The body was sent for post mortem to Tura, the District Headquarter on Friday.

The body of the 14-year old minor girl, hailing from Pushkunipara in Chibinang village was found on the early Friday morning with injury marks.

A suo moto case has been filed in this regard and investigation is still going on.
