SHILLONG: Altogether 62 students representing different colleges and schools participated in the essay competition organised by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The essay competition was organised at St. Anthony Higher Secondary School on Saturday to commemorate their golden jubilee celebrations of the CBI.
Participants were given a three hour time frame to complete their writing on any of the topics such as Anti Corruption, Role and mandate of CBI fighting crime and corruption and Law enforcement issues of contemporary relevance.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (CBI), TR Newar said that the main aim of organizing the competition was to reach out to the youths of the State.
20 different schools and colleges participated in the competition, Newar said adding that the response was overwhelming.
It was also learnt that the written scripts will be sent to Guwahati for scrutiny and results of the competition will be declared later in an official function.
The winners will be awarded with cash prizes and trophy.
Mentionably, CBI conducts investigation on the motto of industry, impartiality and integrity on various cases of corruption. CBI was set up in 1963 and its first director was D P Kohli.
